Get Omarchy on a laptop before you show up.

Omarchy is an opinionated Arch Linux + Hyprland setup from Omacom. It installs from a single ISO, wipes the target disk, and boots into a finished desktop. Under an hour, start to finish. The version below is read from the latest GitHub release at build time.

Verify before you flash:

  1. Linux / macOS
    sha256sum omarchy-4.0.2.iso   # macOS: shasum -a 256 omarchy-4.0.2.iso

  1. Write the ISO to a USB stick. Any tool works: dd, balenaEtcher, Ventoy, Rufus (DD mode).
    sudo dd if=omarchy-4.0.2.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=4M status=progress oflag=sync
  2. Boot from it. UEFI mode, Secure Boot off, pick the USB device in the one-time boot menu.
  3. Run the installer. Username, password, disk. The disk gets wiped. Dual boot is possible — read the dual-boot chapter first.
  4. Reboot, log in. You are on Hyprland. Reach for the keyboard, not the mouse.

  • Backup first. The installer formats the whole disk.
  • Know your firmware keys. F2 / F10 / F12 / DEL to reach boot options. Secure Boot off.
  • Wi-Fi password for first boot. Ethernet works too.
  • Stuck? Bring the laptop anyway. Install parties are half the point.
  • NVIDIA? Supported. Say so when you sit down — someone will have tips.
